The Best Morning This Summer

Usually, no matter how hard I try to be, I am not a morning person. In fact, I'd recently been reading blogs, watching YouTube vids and Google searching "How To Be A Morning Person" but alas, nothing was working. I tried jumping straight into a cold shower, blasting Spotify, blending Banana espresso smoothies (yummy) but I was still having a cheeky lie in till 12pm most days. (Don't worry - I stay up late working to make up for it! Hello 3am bedtime editing!)

But then I was asked to attend a Lipton Ice Tea #BeADayBreaker event. And whilst everyone else in my timezone was just pouring their morning brew and picking up a paper, I was jumping on a train headed into Shoreditch to start my day off unlike no other. With a Get Up and Get Down party.

#BeADayBreaker is a summer series of free Lipton Ice Tea morning events across London. These crazy guys want you to have an awesome morning, even before the daily grind begins. So far, they've started people's days off with a morning river cruise in a classic boat, a sunrise rooftop screening and by erecting a water slide through the middle of Kings Cross for Rise and Slide. But I couldn't have asked for anything better than the event I attended, a massive party at the Magic Roundabout with DJ Norman Jay MBE.

I gave away some tickets to the event on my twitter and spent the morning hanging out with some awesome subscribers Millie and Jordan and soaking up the sun with a Lipton Ice Tea. High up enough to feel like I'd escaped the city, but able to look down at the commuters leaving Old Street station, I got down to the awesome summer beats the DJ played out. We had breakfast together, and I stuck to my newly found veganism and resisted the bacon infused jam and nibbled on toast. I really felt like I was at a mini festival. I even used a portaloo- twice!

It was gorgeous weather for a party and being high up on the Magic Roundabout was a perfect way to witness the day break. Although originally I've never been an early riser, I've certainly experienced one way to shake up my morning routine!

Don't forget to leave a comment! Rosie xxxx

    1. I thought I'd be tired (I woke up at 5.30am because it was aimed to be early enough to enjoy before work begins) but the music and the tea got me pumped for the day! I wish there were more 'morning parties' so I could party all night then carry on in the morning :)

  13. Rosie. You look incredible and healthy! Screw whatever happened to the hair. It grows back, I'm sure you look great. Looks like a great morning. I'm longing to move back to the UK. Maybe one day. Congrats on holding out on the vegan thing, I know it's hard to make those choices. The most important thing besides the animal part is that internally you are healing your body of the autoimmune disease and you looking better than I've ever seen you. Keep it up xx Much love

  16. 3 years ago when I was a uni student, I also not a morning person. Even when I woke up around 6 am for pray (as I'm a muslim) I will fall asleep back after that. But since I am working which force me to get up early in the morning, I will automatically woke up early. The latest will be around 9 am. Somehow working life teach me to wake up early. Hahaha.

  22. Rosie, I really like the photos, you look adorable. But what I honestly appreciate is your way of telling stories. And that you always make me feel like I've been there.
I'm tempted to start my own blog as well, I know what about but not really how to start.
Maybe I'll find out one day :)

  23. This is an inspiring post for someone like me. I don't consider myself a morning person either, but I am currently going to college (I've been going since the 2012) but also before I had to wake up early and go to high school even when I went to bed late at night. So I usually spend my holy days or vacation periods waking up late and going out with friends at the afternoons. Which is weird coming from a family where everyone is usually active and awake at 6 am. I feel very identified with this post. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and keeping in touch with us! I appreciate it very much! Greetings for you and Rose from Venezuela.
