Hen Party at LUSH!!

Hey Guys!

So I know Rose and I have been fairly quiet on the internet lately, and haven’t
been uploading any videos whilst we have been enjoying our honeymoon!! However, the quiet period is ending and I will be writing a short series of Wedding Diary Blog Posts! These will include the Hen Do, Night before the Wedding, the Wedding itself and maybe our Honeymoon :)

So, the week before our wedding I received an email from a lovely lady from Lush Cosmetics, who told me that Lush would like to host our Hen Night! I was seriously excited about this as everybody knows how much I love all the Lush products! I wrote back saying that a Hen Party at Lush would be INCREDIBLE however, it was about Monday when they emailed me and I was due to get married on Friday. :S  I had no idea if they would be able to organise a whole party in such little time, but the lovely lady assured me it could be done, and put me in contact with Sophie, the manager of our local Lush store in Worcester.

Sophie and I emailed back a forth a few times, chatting about whether it would be an upbeat party atmosphere or whether we wanted a more pamper/spa style evening. In the end we decided to have an upbeat party feel! I invited a few close friends, my old housemate Kirsty, Anna and Emma and left the organising up to Sophie. Which was bliss to not have to worry about any of that! I was so busy pre- wedding, making sure all my work was done at my job, making sure our pets had someone to feed and look after them, getting our hair and nails done and last minute panics over dress fittings and shoe sizes. So by the time Wednesday arrived, I was SO READY to let my hair down.

Emma offered to drive us so Rose and I could have a drink, so we parked up nearby and walked to the Lush store Wednesday evening. The high street was dark and all the other shops were closed but we could see lights on and people inside the Lush store. So exciting!!

We walked in and were just overwhelmed. It looked INCREDIBLE!!!! Marbled balloons everywhere, glitter, food, drinks and this massive sign that said Rose and Rosie’s Lush Hen party!!! Loads of the Lush girls that work there were there and they started pouring us champagne. From going into Lush Worcester SO FREAKING MUCH I recognised all of them and had had a good chat to most of them already. They poured the champers and us girls got chatting away. The music was playing some tunes so we were all having a bit of a dance. Kirsty was already there so we stood and chatted for a bit, until Anna came.

When Anna had arrived Sophie, the manager of the store, lead us over to a corner of the store that was set up ready for us all to sit down! I was getting a bit merry already and I remember thinking oh my god, this was the best idea ever. No organisation on my part and I love Lush. We went over and sat on some chairs. Sophie is absolutely gorgeous and has this really relaxing ASMR way about her. Her voice, her mannerisms, they just put me at ease. We sip on our champers and Sophie tells us about how Lush supports Gay Marriage, and ran this campaign recently called #SignofLove where they encouraged people to paint pink triangles on themselves. Lush made it clear that love is love and love has no boundaries. It was all very touching and just refreshingly wonderful to see such a forward thinking and accepting company. It’s 2015 and in England gay marriage has been legal for over a year now. People, and companies, need to get with the programme, but luckily, Lush already has.

It was also seriously touching because Sophie herself is in a lesbian relationship with a GORGEOUS lady!! So Rose and I felt extremely accepted, sat with the Lush girls and our best friends.

The night was a fantastic one. We played silly games (Pin the Nipple on the Boobie) , sculpted with Lush’s version of play dough, massaged each other with Lush massage bars and made our own products. I failed spectacularly at pin the nipple on the boobie so my ‘punishment’ was to get glittered!!!! Which I absolutely LOVED. I felt like a gold sparkly princess.

Lush gave me this sparkly silver dust to wear on my Wedding day because I loved getting glittered so much!

This is one of the products we made!^

The music playing was amazing and as we all got tipsy we danced together and chatted with all the girls. It really was such an incredible evening, and I couldn’t have imagined my Hen Do any other way.

At the end of the evening, Sophie presented Rose and I with some absolutely beautiful gifts. A lovely scrapbook to record all our wedding details in, and gigantic Lush goodie bags with Rose themed gifts. Heaven!!

Sophie had also managed to wangle us some discount at the bar next door, Edwards, so we all piled next door for some cocktails. We would have loved the Lush ladies to join us, and they all popped in later for more hugs and goodbyes, but some of them had been working shifts since early in the morning and needed some much deserved shut eye. Us girls cosied up, being basically the only ones in the entire bar, and let ourselves be stupidly loud, talking selfies and laughing at dumb stuff. I remember not being able to BELIEVE my wedding would be in two days time!!!!

I don’t remember much of the walk home, but Emma told me later that the girls had walked on ahead to the car (Emma being the sober driver so she remembers well) and Rose and I lagged behind, apparently ‘’all over each other and snogging all the time.’ I do remember feeling seriously loved up and special to Rose. Emma also told us that when she dropped us home and drove away, we were still snogging at the front door for ages.

It was the most perfect Hen Party ever, and we are so grateful to Lush for putting it on for us. I can’t wait to go into the store and see all the girls again!!! Thank you thank you thank you for making it so special.

  37. Before my wedding I asked many last minute questions from the manager, and his answer was always: "we have that covered" or "no problem". It was extremely comforting. I am so thankful to the manager and staff at venues for weddings in Los Angeles for all of their efforts on our behalf.
